Bibb Sheriff's Office investigating shooting on Pio Nono Avenue

The man was taken to the hospital by paramedics where he is expected to survive, the sheriff’s office says.

MACON, Ga. — A man was shot off of Pio Nono Avenue Thursday evening in Macon, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

They say it happened just after 7 p.m. in the 1300 block of Crawford Street. 

The man was then taken to the hospital by paramedics, the sheriff’s office said. 

Almost an hour and a half after the shooting, deputies left the scene at around 8:20 p.m. 

The sheriff's office says the man is in stable condition and they expect them to survive.

There is no word on potential suspects, but the sheriff's office says an investigation into the cause of the shooting is underway.
