HAWKINSVILLE, Ga. — A man is in stable condition after being shot in Houston County, according to a press release from the Houston County Sheriff's Office.
They say it happened around 1:22 a.m. when deputies responded to calls about an aggravated assault. It was in the 200 block of Pitts Road in Hawkinsville.
When they arrived they found a man with a gunshot wound.
The man was taken to Atrium Health Navicent at the Medical Center by Houston Healthcare Emergency Medical Services.
He is currently listed in stable condition.
There is an ongoing investigation into what led up to the incident.
