MACON, Ga. — A man has been missing since the start of the new year.
The Bibb county sheriffs office says 43-year old Anthony Rumplik was last seen on December 28th.
On Saturday, Rumplik's Ohio family led an organized search for him - 16 days after he went missing.
They don't know of his current condition, but they were told he was last seen the corner of Courtland and Napier Avenues.
Anthony is described as a white male with long brown hair, 160 pounds, and was last seen wearing black pants and a black sweatshirt.
The Rumplik family drove up and down Napier Avenue with bullhorns in hand, and searched in abandoned houses for him.
Rumplik's younger sister, Marlo, said she feels like the sheriff's department isn't "Taking the case serious because of the perception that he's just another drug addict".
She says he has been self-medicating to address physical chronic health issues, and he is very sick physically and his body is shutting down. He has some mental health issues as well as kidney disease.
According to Marlo, Rumplik was just passing through Macon heading to FL when he broke down. He stayed and has been renting a place on Courtland. His landlord found his door open and said the scene looked suspicious and contacted the family. She says since being here, he had been beaten and had things stolen.
Marlo had special car magnets made for those helping with the search, with all of Anthony's descriptors as well as his picture.
The family is asking for volunteers to join in continuing to search for him.
