Kathleen man killed in Perry crash Friday, Houston County Coroner says

Houston County Coroner James Williams said it happened at around 4 p.m. Friday afternoon.

PERRY, Ga. — Update: 10:30 a.m. Jan. 13:

Houston County Coroner James Williams has identified the man as 64-year-old Phillip Ramsey of Kathleen.

A man from Kathleen is dead after a crash on Sandefur Road near Angel Oak Pass, according to Houston County Coroner James William.

He said that it happened at around 4 p.m. Friday afternoon.

The 64-year-old man was driving when the vehicle left the roadway and struck an embankment.

The man, who was the only person in the car, was taken to Houston Healthcare by EMS, Williams said.

He was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the facility.

Now, the investigation is being headed by the Georgia State Patrol. 

They have not released the victim's name at this time.
