Husband of victim identified as suspect in Riverside Drive shooting death, sheriff's office says

It happened near the Fast Trip on Riverside Drive.

MACON, Ga. — A woman was found shot to death at a gas station on Riverside Drive in Macon, according to a press release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.

They say it happened around 11:07 a.m. at the Fast Trip in the 2600 block of Riverside Drive.

When deputies arrived they found a 51-year-old woman unresponsive with a gunshot wound. She was later identified by the Bibb County Sheriff's Office as Cotina Louise Fuller. After deputies arrived, paramedics arrived on the scene to treat her, but she died from her injuries.

Later, her husband Wayne Anthony Fuller Jr., was identified as the person of interest in Cotina's killing, the sheriff's office said.

They say he fled the scene in a gold sports utility vehicle.

The Henry County Sheriff's Office then located Wayne Fuller's vehicle in McDonough's 100 block of Greenwood Industrial Parkway, the sheriff's office said.

Wayne Anthony Fuller, above, was named as a person of interest after his wife was found shot to death at a Macon gas station.

They attempted to stop his vehicle with a P.I.T. maneuver, Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones said. However, Wayne Fuller would kill himself Friday afternoon.

Deputy Coroner LuAnne Stone pronounced Cotina Fuller dead at the scene, the release says.

Investigators are working to figure out what led up to the shooting.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500 or the Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
