WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — The City of Warner Robins is offering materials ahead of Hurricane Helene's arrival.
The City is offering sandbags and sand at the Public Works Department at 210 Bay Street in Warner Robins.
They are offering this from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25 and Thursday, Sept. 26. They are limiting only 10 bags per residence. The City said that, due to a limited supply, the bags are limited to residents only.
The City said that those interested in the sand and sandbags can simply stop by the office and ask for help and someone there will help out.
Sandbags can be beneficial for preventing possible floods. They can placed around or in front of a door to help keep water out. Flooding chances will shoot up, especially during harsh storms create by a Hurricane like Helene.
