Pedestrian hit by car in west Macon, sheriff's office says

It happened on Saturday around 11 p.m. on Mercer University Drive near the Macon Mall.

MACON, Ga. — A man is in critical condition after a hit and run in west Macon on Saturday, according to a press release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office

The release said a 28-year-old man was hit by a car while crossing the street on the 3400 block of Mercer University Dr near the Macon Mall. The release added it happened on Saturday evening around 11 p.m. 

The man was taken by ambulance to Atrium Health Navicent where he is currently in critical condition. No one else was injured, according to the release.

The driver of the vehicle did not return to the scene to report the crash. The driver and vehicle are unknown at this time.
