Man shot in east Macon Friday night, Bibb County Sheriff's Office says

They say the shooting happened just after 7:30 p.m. Friday evening.

MACON, Ga. — A man was shot in east Macon on Friday night, according to the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.

The call came into the Macon-Bibb County E-911 center just after 7:30 p.m. Friday evening. 

They say it happened near the intersection of Lawrence Drive and East Pine Hill Drive. 

When authorities arrived, they found a man injured in the shooting, but the sheriff's office says that, at this time, he is expected to survive

They say paramedics arrived on the scene to treat the victim, but he was then taken to a hospital. 

No one else was injured as a result of the shooting.

The sheriff's office says the shooting is still under investigation. This is a developing story.
