One of the four men who escaped from Bibb County Jail sentenced to 18 years for probation violation

Anderson will get credit towards his 18 year sentence for his time served in the Bibb Jail.

JONES COUNTY, Georgia — One of the four men who escaped from the Bibb County Jail in October is headed to state prison.

Marc Kerry Anderson was sentenced to 18 years in state prison for violating his probation.

The Bibb County Sheriff says Anderson was facing three aggravated assault charges when he and three others broke out of the jail. He was caught three three weeks later at a luxury apartment in Buckhead.

In 2018, Anderson also entered a first-offender plea in Jones County on drug, theft and forgery charges. He was put on probation.

After his escape, Oconee District Attorney T. Wright Barksdale asked a judge to revoke that probation in the Jones County case and the judge today agreed.

Barksdale says Anderson will get credit toward that 18 year sentence for his time served in the Bibb County Jail, more than five years.
