Annual Research Day 2024 held at Washington Memorial Library to help those with questions on their lineage

Around 35 people came out to ask genealogical questions and learn more about their lineage

MACON, Ga. — Those with pressing genealogical questions were welcomed to an event on Saturday.

Annual Research Day 2024 was held at the Genealogical and Historical Room at the Washington Memorial Library.

The day was set up to help anyone with questions about their lineage. Researchers sat one-on-one and assisted around 35 people with their questions and concerns.

There was an overview and history of the Genealogical & Historical Room, which has hundreds of books, films and other researching tools.

Other things included at the event were a presentation given by the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) and tips on research techniques and alternative records.

The event was presented by several groups, including Central Georgia Genealogical Society, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, National Society United States Daughters of 1812 and the Genealogical & Historical Room

The event ran from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
