Kids of all ages attend Macon back-to-school event

The Humanitarian Gang Inc. hosted the event at the U Create Macon Innovation Center on Saturday

MACON, Ga. — As the 2024-2025 school year approaches, back-to-school events do too.

On Saturday, the Humanitarian Gang Inc. hosted a back-to-school drive through giveaway at the U Create Macon Innovation Center.

They’ve been doing this giveaway since 2015 with their own money, before they were recognized as a non-profit in 2021.

Several volunteers from the non-profit gathered across the street from Ballard Middle School to give out paper, pens, pencils, notebooks and other back to school supplies for a potential 375 people.

College students all the way down to preschoolers were welcomed and encouraged to stop by to collect necessary supplies for the upcoming semester.

There was a raffle by Precision PC for a 128 gigabyte storage adapter that people could use for school projects, music gaming and more.

Tex James from WXFM Power 107.1 FM provided radio coverage for the event.

The event also provided food and drinks for those that stopped by.

It ran from 9 to 11 a.m.
