Husband, wife killed in murder-suicide, Putnam County Sheriff says

Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills said two dead dogs were found at the scene, as well.

PUTNAM COUNTY, Ga. — A man killed his wife and them himself in Putnam County on Wednesday, according to a report from Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills.

Sills said Timothy Brown, 64, called the sheriff's office around 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, and said he had just killed his wife, Vicky Brown, and was planning to kill himself.

When officers made their way into their home on the 800 block of Harmony Road, Sills said they found the husband and wife dead in their bed, alongside two dead dogs in the bedroom.

According to the report, the dogs were killed with a semi-automatic handgun, and Vicky Brown was killed with a .22 rifle.

Sills said there were no signs of a struggle in the house. There was a third dog in the house with them, and it was unharmed in the shooting.

The couple didn't have a history of domestic violence, though neighbors at past addresses told Sills that they had a pattern of "domestic intranquility" over their marriage.

They couple had a son and grandchildren, according to the report.
