WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ga. — A man is dead after a car accident in Washington County, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Nathaniel Brantley, 32, was walking on Georgia Highway 68 near Deep Cut Road around 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, according to the Georgia State Patrol and Washington County Sheriff Joel Cochran.

They said Brantley was walking in the middle of the road when he was hit by a Silverado pickup truck around 6:15 a.m. Cochran said it was not a hit-and-run.

They said he was pronounced dead at the scene by the Washington County Coroner's office.

The Sheriff's Office on Facebook said all roads are open again after intersections in the area were closed for a few hours.
