People in Macon without water after water main break on Zebulon Road

The Macon Water Authority said in a release that the break has blocked two lanes near the Zebulon and Bass Road intersection.

MACON, Ga. — UPDATE: At about 6:40 p.m. Sunday, the Macon Water Authority issued a boil water notice for Macon and parts of Monroe County.

A water main break on Zebulon Road has left Macon residents without water.

Sources have reported that people, specifically in north Macon, don't have any water, while others have very low water pressure.

Macon Water Authority said the main break has blocked off the two lanes near the Bass Road intersection on Zebulon Road.

According to a release, water service in the area is currently shut off due to repairs. The release added that the total area of the outage, the amount of customers affected and the total amount of time the repair will take is currently unknown and will sent out when MWA learns more.

The Monroe County Board of Commissioners posted on Facebook that MWA said that Monroe County water customers along Highway 41 South near Macon-Bibb County may be without water or their services "could be interrupted" due to the break.

The post specifically noted the Loraine Wood and Bolingbroke Manor subdivision.

This is a developing story. We will update this story with more information as we learn more.
