One person dead after fire fully engulfs apartments in Washington County

The Washington County Sheriff's Office says it happened just before 5 a.m.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ga. — A person is dead after a fire at a  home in Washington County according to a Facebook post by the Washington County Sheriff's Office. 

They say just before 5 a.m. deputies, fire crews and emergency medical services responded to an apartment fire on Middle Hill Road. 

When fire crews arrived the homes were fully engulfed in flames. 

The release says crews battled the fire for two hours before getting it under control. 

They say three apartments were destroyed. 42-year-old Temorie Hill of Sparta died in the fire. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and The Georgia Fire Marshals Office.
