Mercer's 2024 Football Concert Series returns for its 6th iteration. See who's headlining at nearly all of Mercer football's home games

Artist Nate Smith will return for his third straight appearance at the concert series alongside four new headliners.

MACON, Ga. — The Mercer Concert Series is back for its sixth season.

On Friday, they announced the lineup for the Ford Football Concert Series for the 2024 season.

All of the Bears’ home games will have an artist performing except for their season opener against Presbyterian on Thursday, Aug. 29.

Nate Smith - Mercer v.s. Western Carolina

There are several new musicians set to perform, but one is a familiar face. Artist Nate Smith returns for a third straight year to perform.

The California native last performed in 2022 and 2023 and returns for a third performance on Oct. 26, which is when Western Carolina makes the trip to Macon.

Some of Smith's most popular songs, according to Spotify, are "Bulletproof," "Whiskey On You" and "World on Fire." Artist Maddox Batson will also perform on Oct. 26 alongside Smith.

The rest of the music artists are brand new to the Football Concert Series.

Breland - Mercer v.s. Citadel

Artist Daniel Breland, who performs under just the name Breland, will be the first performer. He’ll play during the Bears’ second home game against The Citadel on Sept. 21 at 6 p.m.

Breland is another country artist with some of his most popular songs on Spotify being “Beers On Me,” “My Truck" and “Throw It Back,” which featured popular artist Keith Urban.

Like Smith, Breland will have another performer with him. Artist Mackenzie Carpenter, the country artist from Hull, Georgia, will perform the same day.

Eli Young Band - Mercer v Princeton

On Oct. 12, Mercer will face off against Princeton as the Eli Young Band will come to town.

The band, composed of members who met while students at the University of North Texas, have been making songs together since the early 2000s. Their most popular songs, according to Spotify, are “Even If It Breaks Your Heart,” “Crazy Girl” and “Love Ain’t.”

Yacht Rock Schooner - Mercer v ETSU

When Eastern Tennessee State comes to Five-Star Stadium to play Mercer on Nov. 2 at 3 p.m., so too will the band Yacht Rock Schooner.

The eight-man band said on their website that they specialize in 70’s and 80’s music. The added that fans of Hall & Oates, Steely Dan, Kenny Loggins and Michael McDonald will like their music.

Conner Smith - Mercer v Furman

As rival Furman comes to town to close out the Bears’ regular season, Conner Smith will close out the concert series on Nov. 23 at 3 p.m.

The country music artist from Nashville Tennessee is a younger artist at just 23 years old and has been releasing music since around the 2020’s. According to Spotify, his most popular songs include “Creek Will Rise,” “Take It Slow,” and “I Hate Alabama.”

His most recent song, "Steal My Thunder," which features fellow artist Tucker Wetmore, is on the album with the movie "Twisters," which came out on Friday. The movie features actors Glenn Powell, Kiernan Shipka and Anthony Ramos and is a standalone sequel to the 1996 disaster film Twister.

Smith will perform alongside Zach John King, a country artist from Fayetteville, Georgia.
