Central Georgians frustrated after Bell Biv Devoe concert at Atrium Health Amphiteater canceled

This was the second concert at the Atrium Health Amphitheater to be canceled this month. Mayor Lester Miller said there was no reason for concern.

MACON, Ga. — Fans looking forward to a night out at the Atrium Health Amphitheater this week are now headed to the Macon Coliseum.

But instead of getting their concert tickets scanned, they are looking to exchange them.

Cheryl Knight had two tickets in hand when arriving at the box office, and was looking to get a third.

“A friend of mine was coming from Kennesaw, Georgia to go, so I was coming to get a ticket for her," Knight said. "She decided to send me a 13WMAZ article saying that this had been canceled today. So I came back to get my refund."

The Bell Biv DeVoe and 112 concert at Atrium Health Amphitheater is canceled, according to a post from the venue's Facebook page.

This is the second concert at the amphitheater to be canceled this month.

The venue space, which opened in March of this year, has hosted a line of successful concerts. But last week the Summer Jam 2024 concert was also postponed.

The concert featured artists such as Big Charm, Plies, YTB Fatt, Bossman Dlow and Yung Miami.

The venue did not provide a new date for the concert but told people to hold onto the tickets as they will be honored on the new date.

Organizers say the two cancellations are not related.

Knight said the email she received from the venue did not include reasons why the event was canceled.

“I am feeling disappointed," Knight said. "I was really hoping to be going on Saturday. But I'm hoping that they can reschedule it at some point and I definitely will buy tickets or buy tickets to attend another show."

Bell Biv DeVoe also canceled an August performance in Virginia.

Amphitheater General Manager David Aiello says business at the amphitheater has been great, “but from time to time there will be situations where adjustments need to be made.”

In a statement from Mayor Lester Miller, he said there was no reason to be concerned about the amphitheater.

“We have received nothing but great reviews about the venue," he wrote. "Sometimes we are told a tour has canceled its shows here and in other cities, and that is outside our control.”

Refunds will be issued automatically to those who bought them online through Ticketmaster or at the box office with a credit/debit card.

You can visit the Macon Coliseum on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. for a cash refund.

13WMAZ reached out to Bel Biv DeVoe and 112 regarding the cancellation and did not yet receive a response.
