Son allegedly shoots and kills his father after an argument at a home in Houston County, sheriff's office says

Houston County Coroner James Williams say it happened at around 8:20 p.m.

HOUSTON COUNTY, Ga. — A man was shot and killed Wednesday night at a home in Houston County after an argument with his son, according to Captain Brainard with the Houston County Sheriff's Office.

Williams said it happened at around 8:20 p.m. in the 100 block of Wimberly Road in Hayneville.

52-year-old Adalberto Ortiz-Nieves was taken by ambulance to Houston Healthcare in Perry where he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving, Williams said. His son, 21-year-old Alexzander Capella-Ortega, was arrested early Thursday morning.

Brainard said the father and son got into an argument and it ended with the son shooting and killing his father.  There are no new details around what led to shooting, or any other parts of investigation at this time.

This is a developing story. We will provide more information when it becomes available.
