Man charged with aiding four escaped inmates from Bibb County Jail, accused of driving Dodge Challenger

In a press release, the sheriff's office said that he was "the driver" of the blue Dodge Challenger. He also faces theft charges.

MACON, Ga. — A second person is charged with aiding the escape of four inmates from the Bibb County Jail

Jakaylen Billy Ray Williams is charged with aiding the inmates escape and theft by receiving stolen property.

An arrest warrant says Williams aided Marc Anderson, Johnifer Barnwell, Joey Fournier and Chavis Stokes at 3:30 a.m. on Oct. 16.

According to the Bibb Sheriff's Office, they say that Williams was "the driver" of the blue Dodge Challenger which the sheriff's office released photos of the day of the escape.

It is still unclear what role the car played in the escape.

They say that he was in possession of the 2022 blue Dodge Challenger when it was recovered, and they say that — at this point— the vehicle was driven to the jail.

They are still investigating whether or not the car itself was used to take the inmates away from the jail after their escape.

Another arrest warrant says Williams possessed a Dodge Challenger stolen from Enterprise Rent-a-Car on Riverside on Oct. 9.

Williams also faces domestic violence charges for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend in August. Those charges appear to be unrelated.

Another person, Mykia Williams, is in the Bibb County Jail facing four counts of aiding an escape.

A Bibb County arrest warrant says Williams also aided in the escape of the four inmates who broke out of the Bibb County Jail nine days ago.

13WMAZ asked the Bibb County Sheriff's Office how Williams aided the escape and they declined comment.

Mykia Williams is the girlfriend of Christian Williams, a murder suspect who was on the loose for seven months until Monday.

Only hours before he was set to go on trial for the murder of Greg Watkins, a video was released showing Christian Williams being dragged from his front lawn in the early hours of March 6.

For the past 7 months, he's been missing.

Now, the Bibb County Sheriff's Office is confirming that Williams shot himself during a raid in the 2000 block of Vineville Avenue, which the sheriff's office said was connected to the search for the four inmates who escaped from the Bibb County Jail.

According to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones, Williams died at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Atrium Health Navicent in Macon from a gunshot wound to the head.
