MACON, Ga. — Donald Trump's campaign released details on the former president's campaign rally in Macon, which the campaign says will be one of his last rallies in Georgia.
The rally — just two days before the election — will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Atrium Health Amphitheater on Eisenhower Parkway, according to a press release from the campaign.
They say the doors to the amphitheater will open at 2:30 p.m. but Trump is scheduled to speak at 6:30 p.m.
Trump's visit comes as candidates on both sides crisscross battleground states attempting to shore up final support in the waning days of the campaign, and Georgia has gotten a great deal of attention.
In Macon alone, Jill Biden is scheduled to campaign for Trump's challenger Kamala Harris on Saturday. Up north in Atlanta, Harris will be hitting the campaign trail that same day. This Thursday, Vice Presidential nominee Tim Walz's wife Gwen knocked on doors for her husband and Harris.
But Trump's rally will be the first top-of-the-ticket presidential candidate to campaign in Macon.
In September, VP nominee Walz visited Macon and spoke to campaign volunteers. Trump's vice presidential nominee, JD Vance, was scheduled to speak in Macon, but it was canceled due to Hurricane Helene.
For people who are interested in attending the rally, the Trump campaign has opened forms to request tickets. The campaign notes that tickets will come on a first come first serve basis. You can request tickets here.
In terms of traffic and road closures, the Bibb County Sheriff's Office says they are preparing to offer updates on the impact on traffic.
So far this election, Georgia's Secretary of States Office reports that voters have turned-out early at a record-levels, with over 50% of active voters casting their ballots already.
While the Atrium Health Amphitheater is in the parking lot of the Macon-Bibb Board of Elections, which is a polling place, early voting ends on Friday. That means no voting will be underway while Trump holds his rally.
