MACON, Ga. — A psychic tip led the family of a missing Macon woman to a building on Holt Avenue Tuesday, but their search still turned up empty, according to the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.
18-year-old Gabby Dixon went missing on Oct. 30, sending her family scrambling for answers. According to an incident report, Dixon’s daughter told her grandmother “Momma was in blood,” but her older grandchild said, “It was okay, Momma is sleeping.”
Three months since she disappeared, her family still doesn't know what happened to Gabby Dixon.
According to the sheriff's office, the family turned to a psychic in the search for Dixon, and a reading pointed Dixon's family to a building where the psychic said Dixon was.
They say the family turned up to the property to search for Dixon, but they became trapped inside.
The fire department was called to cut the locks of the building to let the family members out. Despite the family trespassing, the owner of the building did not want to press charges, the sheriff's office said.
The sheriff's office also searched the building and did not find anything.
Turning up empty, the sheriff's office says the psychic told the family "to go over to the next apartment complex and search the area because she [Dixon] was there." Both deputies and family members searched the area, but no body was found.
Later Tuesday, Dixon's family went before the Macon-Bibb County Commission meeting and confirmed they sent link of the psychic reading to the sheriff's office. They asked for more answers in their daughter's case, and the commission pointed them back to the district attorney and sheriff's office.
Mayor Lester MIller told Dixon's family that he sympathizes with the family and is praying for them.
In the time since Dixon's disappearance, the father of Dixon's children, Reginald Harris, was arrested on separate family violence charges, and another man, Jatarvius Price, was charged with making false statements and tampering with evidence.
However, there have not been any charges directly related to Dixon's disappearance, only for tampering with evidence.
Dixon's family has organized searches from the Ocmulgee trails to Amerson River Park. They even held a protest in downtown Macon.
Dixon's mother, Gabrella Searcy, previously told 13WMAZ she does not think the sheriff's office has done enough in the search for her daughter.
"I'm not the mayor's wife, I'm not the mayor's daughter but I guarantee you if it was our mayor, if it was our senator, our governor, anyone else besides little old Gabriella, little old Gabrielle Dixon, their child would've been found, results would've been ASAP," Searcy said. "They would've been moved up to first priority."
The sheriff's office says the investigation is still on-going.
"Investigators are currently working closely with the District Attorney’s Office in Ms. Dixon’s open case... Investigators will not be available to discuss details to this case with you. Although this may be frustrating, I assure you we will release updates to you when they become available and try to honor your request regarding this at a later time."
