MACON, Ga. — A pedestrian was hit by a car in downtown Macon, according to a press release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.
The collision happened around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, according to the release. They say the pedestrian was taken to a local hospital, and remains in stable condition.
Witnesses told 13WMAZ reporters at the scene on Cherry Street that the victim was moving his hands and talking when he was taken into the ambulance.
It happened near the Hummingbird in downtown Macon.
Witnesses also say that it took about 12 people to move the car off of the pedestrian before he was transported to the hospital.
The accident is still under investigation, and the sheriff's office hasn't released any information about the person who was driving the car.
