Debris dump off | Macon-Bibb County opening 2 dump sites for trees and debris from Tropical Storm Helene

Residents across Macon-Bibb have collected their fair share of debris and trees following the storm that rolled through Thursday night and early Friday morning.

MACON, Ga. — Tropical Storm Helene created quite a mess across Central Georgia.

People from all over are reporting trees that have fallen down and a large amount of debris and branches flung across their yards. Macon-Bibb County made an announcement on Friday with an announcement to help alleviate some of the debris.

The County is allowing anyone to dump their debris free of charge from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. starting on Friday. They can dump them off at either Macon-Bibb Convenience Centers, which are located at 4214 Fulton Mill Road and 1010 11th Street.

These centers will remain open every day starting next week — Monday, Sept. 30 through Friday, Oct. 4 — and this upcoming weekend — Saturday, Sept. 28 and Sunday, Sept. 29.

Earlier on Friday, Macon-Bibb announced that trash and recycling pick up for the county would be moved to Monday and cause all routes to be behind a day starting on Sept. 30. Thus Monday routes will run on Tuesday, Tuesday routes on Wednesday, and so on. The routes that would run on Oct. 4 will run on Saturday, Oct. 5.
