MACON, Ga. — A deputy and armed suspect were both injured on Thursday after a struggle, the Bibb County Sheriff's Office says.
They say it happened at the Murphy's Express at 1402 Gray Highway. That's right across the road from the Gray Highway Walmart.
Deputies were dispatched after an armed man was reportedly being disruptive inside the business.
When deputies arrived, they say a "struggle" occurred between the deputy and the suspect, which led to both receiving injuries.
Both were taken to a medical facility for treatment, and the suspect is in custody.
The statement from the sheriff's office does not say what kind of injuries the deputy suffered and what their condition is.
They say the situation is under investigation.
