MACON, Ga. — A Macon man was sentenced to life in prison after they say he stabbed a man to death, the Macon District Attorney's Office says.
They say Jeremy Bryant, 42, pleaded guilty to murder among other charges in the death of Randall Keith Head.
Head was reported missing on April 27, 2020. Three days later, they say Head's body was found behind Ollie's Bargain Outlet on Mercer University by two Macon Water Authority employees.
They say Head had been stabbed multiple times to his neck.
According to the DA's Office, they say Head and Bryant had been planning a drug deal, and they believe Bryant was the last person in contact with Head.
They say Bryant and his co-defendant, Sheila Weeks, were captured on hotel surveillance video parking Head's red Chevrolet Cruze before moving it to a hospital the next day.
During a plea hearing for Weeks, prosecutors say Bryant was upset over a drug deal between the two.
Bryant pleaded guilty to malice murder, theft by taking and concealing the death of another on Tuesday, the press release says.
In court, the family of Head "lamented his senseless murder and the void his loss has created among them," the DA's Office says.
According to the press release, Bryant was sentenced to life in prison.
Bryant and his co-defendant Weeks were arrested after a Crimestoppers tip revealed the two were hanging out on Spring Street at the I-16 overpass.
When authorities arrived, they found Weeks and Bryant sitting underneath the I-16 bridge.
Back in July, Weeks plead guilty to theft charges and concealing the death of another. According to sentencing documents, prosecutors dropped the murder charge against her and she received 10 years, but only two years to be served in prison.
But because of her two years in the county jail, Weeks received time served, being able to serve the rest of her sentence on probation.
