Johnson County coach and teacher arrested, charged for sexual misconduct with a student, sheriff's office says

A release says the man, who was listed as a teacher/coach on Johnson County School's staff page, is accused of having sexual relations with the student since August.

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ga. — Deputies arrested a Johnson County teacher and coach on Saturday for improper sexual conduct with a student, according to a Johnson County Sheriff's Office press release.

The release said they arrested Charles Beal, a teacher and coach at Johnson County Middle and High School, and charged with 20 counts of sexual misconduct.

According to the release, Beal was teaching and coaching with the Johnson County Board of Education at the time of his arrest. 13WMAZ has reached out to the board of education to determine if Beal is still an employee. He is still listed on the Johnson County Middle School and High School staff pages under Chuck Beal.

The release said the sheriff's office received a tip that Beal was having sexual relations with a student on Friday. After an initial investigation, the sheriff's office said that it had been going on since August and carried on through November.

The investigation is still going on. Anyone with more information can contact Captain Angie Coleman, at the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, at 478-864-4006.

This is a developing story. 13WMAZ will update it when more information becomes available.
