MACON, Ga. — 1. 'Grand slam for Green': Macon couple gets married at Luther Williams Field

A Macon couple marked a very important event at a historic location in Macon - Luther Williams Field last week. Nick and Amanda Green tied the knot at the stadium, holding the first wedding ever at Luther Williams in its entire 93-year history. Nick Green, the groom, used to work for the Macon Bacon and the couple had a fully baseball-themed wedding.

2. Ingleside neighbors come together to find a safe home for wandering pig

"After getting permission from the Lutheran Church - He set his huge trap at 5 a.m. Saturday morning, October 29. He and I monitored the trap throughout the day," Angelo said.  She said it took some time as several people interfered with the trap but after putting a sign out asking the community to leave it alone, they eventually caught the pig on Oct. 30 around 11 a.m. "I have a devoted passion for animals and I am driven to help when they are in need. I knew this pig needed help and my efforts were failing. Knowing that my plea to Don Sullivan to trap her prevented any possible suffering of this animal has certainly made my weekend," Angelo said.

3. Douglass Theatre's HBCU Art Series to raise funds for Central Georgia students

The Douglass Theatre is bringing the HBCU homecoming experience home to Macon. The theater will host a fundraiser in the spirit of homecoming at Historically Black Colleges and Universities. It all kicks off Thursday at 6:30 p.m. as part of the Douglass Theater HBCU Art Series. Proceeds will go towards a scholarship for high school and HBCU students.

4. The sweetest surprise: Soldier returns home, stuns daughter on her birthday at Georgia middle school

It was quite the birthday gift for one Barrow County middle schooler who received the surprise of a lifetime on Wednesday afternoon while at school. All of the emotions were captured on video when the girl's mom, having just returned home after a six-month deployment, walked into the middle of her daughter's class with birthday balloons and roses. In a video posted to Facebook by Richard B. Russell Jr. Middle School in Winder, the unbeknownst 6th grader's reaction was simply priceless.

5. Georgia boy brings 'love and protection' to kids in need

A Georgia boy is looking to help other children in need this holiday season and is asking the public for help. Caden Jackson's foundation, Love and Protection, is collecting hats, scarves, gloves and more for children in the foster care system or kids who don't have permanent housing. The 12-year-old has been leading the organization for the past eight years, built on the mission to deliver donations to kids in need all over the Peach State. The foundation said they donated over 500 items.
