GoFundMe set up for 23-year-old woman killed in south Bibb crash on I-75

The crash happened on Saturday.

MACON, Ga. — A GoFundMe was set up for a 23-year-old woman who was killed in a crash on I-75 over the weekend in Macon.

Kaitlyn Hermans, of Fort Valley, died in a car crash on September 7 near the Sardis Church Road exit in south Bibb County.

In a post on GoFundMe, it says the funds are to give Hermans a service that she deserves to honor her memory and for family and friends to say their last goodbyes.

“We are all devastated by the loss of Kaitlyn and were not prepared for the cost of a funeral service,” the post said. “We want to give Kaitlyn the service she deserves, to honor her memory and say our last goodbyes. We are reaching out to our community for support. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help alleviate the financial strain and allow the family to focus on grieving and remembering Kaitlyn.”

They have raised more than $7,500.

Anyone with more information can call the Bibb County Sheriff's Office at 478-751-7500 and should ask to speak with a Fatality Investigator.
