MACON, Ga. — The 13WMAZ weather team officially issued a Weather Impact Alert on Saturday for Monday and Tuesday, as the chances for current Tropical Cyclone Debby to impact counties in the southeast increase.
The cyclone is currently expected to provide continuous rainfall and strong winds towards the eastern and southeastern counties and is projected to last most of Monday and Tuesday.
As such, counties have begun to announce school closures. As more are announced, 13WMAZ will update this story.

County: Wheeler
- Cancellation Dates: Monday, Aug. 5, and Tuesday Aug. 6
- School will be closed on both days for all students, faculty and staff due to heavy rain
- If the storms extend into Wednesday, Aug. 7, may cancel then as well
County: Treutlen
- Cancellation Dates: Monday, Aug. 5, Tuesday Aug. 6
- Update will go out Aug. 6 at 2:00 p.m. with more information
County: Laurens, City of Dublin
- Cancellation Dates: Monday, Aug. 5, Tuesday Aug. 6
- All after-school programs have been canceled for Monday.
- School is closed for all students on Tuesday.
County: Johnson
- Cancellation Dates: Tuesday, Aug. 6
- School will be closed due to weather conditions
- All after school activities have also been cancelled for tomorrow
