Fort Valley Police arrest juvenile after 2 women shot inside convenience store

Peach County Coroner Kerry Rooks says it happened on the 800 block of State University Drive.

FORT VALLEY, Ga. — Fort Valley police say they've arrested a juvenile who shot and killed a woman inside a convenience store.

Peach County Coroner Kerry Rooks says the victim is 43-year-old Shalandra Hooten.

He said she died around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night from gunshot wounds.

Rooks says it happened on the 800 block of State University Drive.

In a Facebook post, police say two women were shot.

We have no information on the condition of the second woman.

The juvenile's name has not been released, but police say he's being held at the Peach County Jail and they are looking to charge him with murder.
