Two suspects accused of aiding in a jail escape now sit in jail themselves. The four they're accused of freeing are still on the run

Mykia Williams and Jakaylen Williams faced a Bibb County magistrate judge Monday. The judge denied their bond.

MACON, Ga. — Two people now sit in jail, accused of helping four people escape the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center last Monday.

Mykia Williams and Jakaylen Williams both faced a Bibb County Magistrate Court judge Tuesday, charged with aiding the escape.

Jakaylen Williams had another charge relating to the car investigators found Friday in an east Macon Kroger parking lot.

"This court will not be granting you a bond today. It will be bound over to Superior Court. Do you need to have a commitment hearing?" Judge Valencia Jones asked.

 "Yes, ma'am," Mykia Williams said.

That message also went to Jakaylen Williams Tuesday as Judge Jones denied both bonds. Both requested a commitment hearing, too.

"At that hearing, you, the officer, and an attorney is present," Jones said. "The officer presents his or her case, giving more detailed information about the charges that have been placed against you."

The arresting officer must also prove they had probable cause to make the arrest. In this case, they'd have to prove how both helped four inmates escape the jail nine days ago.

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office isn't saying much about why they believe the two did it. Their warrants aren't much help either.

Jakaylen Williams' other charge provides more clues.

"One count of possession, I'm sorry. Theft by receiving stolen property which was a vehicle. Do we understand?" Jones asked.

"Yeah," Jakaylen Williams said.

The sheriff's office announced Tuesday night they believe that vehicle was the blue Dodge Challenger they found Friday.

They believe Williams was the driver who may have tampered with the fence at the jail, allowing for the escape. Both suspects now sit in jail themselves as the four they're accused of letting out still roam free.

Law enforcement arrested Jakaylen Williams Tuesday, according to Bibb County jail booking logs. They arrested Mykia Williams Monday as they tried to question her boyfriend, Christian Williams.

He shot himself in the head and died Tuesday morning at Atrium Health Navicent. Christian Williams evaded investigators for seven months after he was allegedly kidnapped the night before he was set to stand trial for murder.

The sheriff's office will not confirm whether Jakaylen Williams is related to either.

Local, state and federal law enforcement are still searching for Joey Fournier, Marc Anderson, Johnifer Barnwell and Chavis Stokes.
