'Get him back to Laurens County ' | Family of missing Dublin man still searching after truck found in Griffin

Garland Warren's Toyota truck was found outside of a Dollar General in Griffin, but he was not found with the truck.

GRIFFIN, Ga. — The truck of missing Laurens County man Garland Warren, 82, was found at a Dollar General on Jackson Road in Griffin Friday afternoon, but Warren's family still has questions after Friday's search left them without many answers.

Warren went missing on June 10, and his family says he has dementia, no cell phone and is probably confused.

The search started with many gathering around the taped-off piece of evidence. Warren's Toyota truck was parked 100 miles away from home, which the family says was odd. They say he isn't too familiar with the area and doesn't often travel that way.

A Laurens County Sheriff's Office major shared they've been following the flock cameras. They first pinged in the Fort Valley and Peach County area the day he went missing. More recently video captured his car in the Crawford County area.

"We had all the flock systems pulled in our town, come through the city of Reynolds. Something told me I needed to help out," Brodi Barrow shared.

For the last several days he's been helping the family with their search and posting updates to social media. He says the timing of Friday's truck find was a blessing, but also a bit odd.

"The post that I made today, I think they said it got 1.3 or 1.5 thousand shares today. After the post was made it was probably around 4 hours later that the truck showed up," Barrow shared.

He said he is committed to the search.

"I told the family when I started helping them about three days ago that we would get some answers and that we wouldn't rest until we get him back to Laurens County one way or the other," he shared.

However, Friday's search wasn't too promising, and after 11 days Warren's daughter says she was thinking the worst.

Deputies from Laurens and Spalding counties searched the wooded area around the Dollar General. After they did that search and checked store camera footage, the GBI took a look under the hood of Warren's car. It was later towed away.

The site was packed up a little after 6:30 p.m. and officials headed down the street to the stakeout location.

However, not much happened after that.

A helicopter searched the sky, but around 9:00 p.m. they called it quits.

We didn't learn much more from law enforcement by the time we left. We do know they have a new lead, but officials didn't specify what it is. The Laurens County Sheriff's Office shared their search is still ongoing but we do not know when they plan to continue it.

We do know the family plans to continue their search through the weekend.
