MACON, Ga. — Bad news for doughnut lovers in downtown Macon.
Outside of the Krispy Kreme on North Avenue, there is a sign telling customers that they will soon temporarily close for renovations later in November. But according to a spokesperson for the company, the doughnut chain's location will also close for good on Dec. 23.
The location which has graced the corner of North Avenue and Emery Highway will be torn down after decades to make way for a QT Gas Station.
According to the company, the company did not own the land on which the store sat so they did not have a choice in the matter.
Coming 2024, you'll have to go to the chain's location on Pio Nono Avenue for your Krispy Kreme cravings.
The chain has been in operation since 1937 starting up in North Carolina. Since then, the chain has grown to 1,400 locations.
