100 stops, 80 citation written in Bibb County Sheriff's Office traffic crackdown

They say motorists driving under the influence were also arrested and eleven firearms were recovered.

MACON, Ga. — The Bibb County Sheriff's Office and the Georgia State Patrol conducted over 100 traffic stops with 80 citations written in a large law enforcement effort on Friday, according to a Facebook post from the office.

They say the agencies "conducted a special joint operation using proactive patrol techniques, traffic enforcement, and crime suppression tactics to deter criminal activity" in the community. 

Over a hundred traffic stops were conducted during the detail with 80 citations written and numerous search warrants served with wanted individuals taken into custody.

They say motorists driving under the influence were also arrested and eleven firearms were recovered.

“The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is committed to deterring crime in our community by addressing street racers and other dangerous drivers and taking wanted individuals off the streets. We appreciate the partnerships we have with surrounding law enforcement agencies, which help us to keep our community safer," Sheriff David Davis said.
