COCHRAN, Ga. — Two masked men are accused of breaking into vehicles in Cochran on Tuesday, according to a Facebook post from the Bleckley County Sheriff's Office. Now, one person is in jail and another is on the run.
They say that both the Bleckley County Sheriff's Office and the Cochran Police Department were notified of two suspicious masked men trespassing and, "ultimately, breaking into vehicles," the department said in their post.
The sheriff's office arrested 20-year-old Kaland Butler was arrested on the scene who is charged with breaking into cars.
Butler is from Uvalda in Montgomery County. He also has additional warrants from other law enforcement agencies.
But another man, 25-year-old Maurice Anderson, is still on the run. The Cochran man is charged with breaking into cars as well as fleeing and obstructing.
The post, which was made by Sheriff Daniel Cape, issued this warning to Anderson: Mr Anderson, you sir are currently wanted by the Bleckley County Sheriffs Office, it’s a whole lot easier, if you’ll take responsibility for your actions and turn yourself in. Hope to see you soon sir."
They released photos of the two men. Anderson is dressed in red and Butler is dressed in Black, the sheriff's office says.
