Dogs and their owners gather for dog agility show

The event is a qualifier for a future national agility competition in Tucson, Arizona

PERRY, Ga. — A competition on Saturday showcased athleticism and agility from top athletes. The athletes in question? About 200 dogs.

The United States Dog Agility Association held the Sirius Dog Agility show at the Georgia National Fairgrounds, which started on Friday and will run through Sunday, Aug. 11.

The dog's agility and athleticism was tested with some ultimately coming out on top. The top finishers earned medals and possibly ribbons.

The show itself is actually a qualifier. Those who qualify will earn a spot at the national event, which is held in Tucson, Arizona.

In addition to the competition, there were also vendors on site.

They were selling custom shirts, treat bowls, leash holders, disks, refrigerator magnets and treats for the dogs.

The event usually runs from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
