Fiery crash in Hawkinsville leaves one person dead on Thanksgiving, Georgia State Patrol says

The car caught fire and the driver was trapped inside, according to Georgia State Patrol.

HAWKINSVILLE, Ga. — A driver is dead in Pulaski County after a fiery car crash on Thanksgiving, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

They say a vehicle went off the east shoulder of the road and struck a culvert near GA 27 and Dan Sparrow Road, which is in Hawkinsville.

However, the vehicle continued to travel after the crash, with Georgia State Patrol saying the vehicle overturned multiple times before coming to a stop.

The vehicle caught on fire, and the driver was trapped inside.

The driver was the only person in the car.

The Georgia State Patrol says that the driver and what type of vehicle it was has not been identified because of the fire.

It is unclear what time the crash happened.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, 14 people died on Georgia roads this Thanksgiving day.

In Laurens County, two people died when their cars collided on the eastbound lane of I-16.
