DUBLIN, Ga. — Two people are dead after a Thanksgiving car crash on I-16 in Laurens County, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
They say it happened at around 11:25 p.m. on Thanksgiving day near mile marker 58.
The two cars were traveling east in the westbound lane when a Nissan Altima struck a Honda Pilot driver.
Both drivers were pronounced dead on the scene. Laurens County Coroner Nathan Stanley says April Jones of Dublin was pronounced dead at 12:13 a.m.
They are currently withholding the other victim's names because their next of kin has not been notified.
As of now, we don't know where each driver is from or how old they are.
We reached out to the Laurens County Coroner's office for more information. He was not immediately available for comment.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, a total of 14 people died on the roads in Georgia on Thanksgiving.
