Boil water advisory lifted for parts of Macon and Monroe County, according to the Macon Water Authority

This comes after a Zebulon Road water main broke on Sunday afternoon.

MACON, Ga. — The boil water advisory for parts of Macon and Monroe County has been lifted, according to the Macon Water Authority.

They released a statement on their Facebook page. It says after thorough testing, they were able to confirm that the water is once again safe for all uses, and residents in the impacted areas can resume normal water use without the need to boil it.

“We want to extend a huge thank you to all of our customers for your patience and understanding throughout this process.” The post said. “Your safety is always our top priority, and we appreciate your cooperation.”

A water main on Zebulon Road broke on Sunday afternoon, leaving many residents without water for several hours.

The Macon Water Authority issued a boil water advisory later that evening. Stratford and FPD were both closed on Tuesday due to the advisory.

13WMAZ will provide additional updates when they are made available.
