ATLANTA — It's a holiday staple and a side most people are excited to dive into on their Thanksgiving plate as one of the stars of the show -- the mac and cheese.
For Christmas 2018, former Atlanta mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms made a now-infamous attempt at the holiday dish herself.
She posted a photo of her version of the dish on social media showing her concoction, but was met with many people joking and causing and uproar.
Stouffers even weighed in on the attempt saying "Here for your next time, Keisha," back in 2018.
The post below is a photo from her 2018 post on the platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
Bottoms, in on the joke, humorously posted her 2018 attempt again on Wednesday to reflect on what went wrong. "Someone will probably put on my tombstone, 'She tried.' #macncheesegate #macncheesemurder," she joked in an Instagram caption on the recent post.
Well, she's back this year and has made yet another attempt at her mac and cheese dish on Thanksgiving Day, which was ultimately "family approved."
She posted a video on Thursday where her family members compared a version of her brother's mac and cheese and her own. She asked if she redeemed herself from her 2018 attempt, after getting nods of approval from both her mom and brother.
"Can we put this to bed now?" she joked.
Bottoms showed off more of her cooking skills, giving a peek at a sweet potato soufflé with marshmallows on the top. She also posted a snippet of a full video on Instagram with her mom who was helping her prepare turkey and stuffing -- the two stars on Thanksgiving Day. The full video is on her personal YouTube page.
So, what are your thoughts? Did she redeem herself?
