Deputies investigating man shot, killed in Macon

A 23-year-old man is dead after a shooting on Middleton Avenue.

MACON, Ga. — Bibb deputies are investigating a shooting that killed one man on the 3800 block of Middleton Avenue Friday night.

According to Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley, deputies got the call about a person shot near Napier Avenue. When they made it to the scene, they found 23-year-old Jayme Johnson in the street with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead just before 8:30 p.m.

Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones says this is Macon's 23rd homicide of 2019.

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is still investigating the shooting.
