MACON, Ga. — Hope 4 Healing INC. held its first annual Career Fest and Concert in Macon at the Carolyn Crayton Park round building on Saturday.
Around 200 people showed up for the event, which ran from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The career fest had several employees from multiple companies. Some of those in attendance are
The Bibb County School District
Home Depot
Randstad
Walmart
The GDC
Fort Valley Police Department
Fort Valley Fire Department
Middle Georgia Regional Library
Marriott
Several other companies also made appearances.
In addition to the career fair, several resources or certain companies were also available. Those resources included tables with the NAACP and United way, as well as:
Resume assistance
Medicaid assistance
EBT assistance
Government health insurance assistance
The event had free hair cuts and blood pressure tests onsite. There was also free food available.
They also had clothes and shoes available for those in need.
Jaretta Ford, the founder of Hope 4 Healing INC., said the purpose of the event is to help those needing any or better employment. She also noted that the primary reason for this event is to help out the community.
While this was the first event in Macon, Ford said they’ve been invited to do these in Warner Robins, Charlotte and Ghana and is excited to keep these going.
"We're taking the love of Christ to the streets and we do that by showing love and giving to the people," Ford said.
