Some Central Georgia counties cancel Friday classes due to flooding, damage

Classes are canceled for students in some Central Georgia counties on Friday after heavy rain caused flooding in those areas.

DODGE COUNTY, Ga. — Classes are canceled for students in some Central Georgia counties on Friday after heavy rain caused flooding and damage in those areas.

According to a post on the Dodge County Schools Facebook page, classes will be canceled for students Friday. Staff are to report at 9 a.m.

Laurens County has cancelled classes for all schools in the county Friday.

Jasper County schools are also closed for students. Staff still reports Friday. That's according to Superintendent Kenny Garland. 

Johnson County Schools has announced cancellation of classes for Friday as well.

Telfair County schools are closed for Friday.

Treutlen County schools have cancelled classes.

Wheeler County schools are out for students Friday, but staff report at 9 a.m.
