Vehicle fire shuts down I-75 North near Pate Road exit in Monroe County; lanes since reopened

The disruption started just before 6 p.m., according to the Georgia Department of Transportation's 511 website.

MONROE COUNTY, Ga. — A vehicle fire on I-75 North closed all lanes near the Pate Road-Bolingbroke exit, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation's 511 website.

They say it started at around 5:54 p.m.

Initially, they expected the situation to end around 6:24 p.m, but at around 6:20 p.m., 511 reported one lane had reopened. It later completely reopened.

At this time, it is not clear what caused the fire.

Monroe County Sheriff Brad Freeman says they sent two deputies out to the scene. He says the fire has since been put out.
