JOHNSON COUNTY, Ga. — Two people are dead and two people are injured after two separate car accidents that happened just minutes apart on the same road in Johnson County.
That’s according to crash reports from Georgia State Patrol.
The accidents happened on Tuesday and one involved a car chase with Johnson County deputies.
The report from the agency says 19-year-old Tucker Bentley, of Wrightsville, was driving away from deputies on New Buckeye Road.
That's when he went around a curve and traveled off the road.
The car flipped over and hit a tree. Then it came to a rest on its top. He was less than a mile north of Calvary Church Road.
There is no word yet on what led up to the chase.
State patrol says the second accident killed 21-year-old Taylor Dixon.
The crash report says 19-year-old Gracie Fulghum was driving a 2015 Toyota Camry on New Buckeye Road when she lost control of the car.
Ramsey Bentley, 25, and Dixon were in the car, too.
The car went on to the shoulder of the road and turned counterclockwise before it hit several trees.
They were extricated from the car and taken to Navicent Health for treatment by ambulance, according to the report.
That accident happened a little over a mile south of Calvary Church Road.
Fulghum and Bentley suffered serious injuries. There is no update on their condition at this time.
Georgia State Patrol says this investigation is ongoing with the assistance of the GSP Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team.
