MACON, Ga. — The 11th week of Football Friday Night is here, and we’ve got a slate of Central Georgia teams set to go head-to-head. Here are some of the games we’re keeping an eye on.
Dodge County vs Northeast
Dodge County is entering its matchup against Northeast with all the momentum on their side. The Indians are 8-0 on the season so far, and have rolled through every opponent that's stepped up to face them.
It might not be that easy against Northeast, though. The Raiders have won six of their last seven outings, and will have homefield advantage over Dodge County when the two teams collide on Friday.
The Northeast defense has been helped by defensive back Kortnei Williams' play this season. He's been a ballhawk all year, and has nine interceptions to show for it. If he shows up to play against Dodge County, he could add a 10th pick to his season total.
FPD vs Tattnall
First Presbyterian Day School will clash with Tattnall Square Academy on Friday in a game between two of the hottest team in the entire GIAA.
The Trojans - sitting at a very tidy 7-1 record - have won their last seven games in a row, and haven't allowed more than 22 points during that stretch.
On the other side, FPD has an 8-1 record, and has relied on a red-hot offense led by Viking quarterback Major Simmons.
These two teams met last season in the state semifinals, and the Vikings took home the win on their way to a state championship. Will it be a repeat of history, or can Tattnall avenge last season's loss?
Peach County vs Cairo
When Peach County and Cairo meet on Friday, expect a whole lot of points to be scored.
The Trojans average more than 40 points per game, and lead all GHSA AAA teams in that category. They're at home for this one, and they posted 55 points in their last home outing, a win over Westover.
Meanwhile, Cairo has won their last six games, and have scored 35-plus points in five of those six matchups. For the 7-1 Trojans, this might be their biggest test of the season so far.
