FFN Roundup | Tattnall claims come from behind victory, Howard running back does it all

Here's a breakdown of the top games and performances during Week 10 of Football Friday Night

MACON, Ga. — This was another great Friday night for football, although there were certainly several blowouts and dominant performances.

Fitzgerald easily handled Berrien, Upson-Lee crushed Fayette County and Peach County smashed Bainbridge.

There were a few close matchups, including Washington County's one-point win over East Laurens or Jasper County's two-point win over Social Circle in overtime.

Here's a full roundup of scores and highlights from teams in and around Central Georgia.

Game of the Week: Tattnall vs John Milledge Academy

This was not a matchup that was supposed to be close. Yet the once 1-7 John Milledge Academy kept it competitive against the 6-1 Tattnall Square Academy, and, at one point, looked like the team may grab a win.

However, it was the one loss the Trojans prevailed with a 28-17 victory over John Milledge.

While the final score was a bit further from the close game it started as, John Milledge gave Tattnall fits early.

Bradyn Harrison intercepted a Braxton Collins pass for a solid return, which set up running back Asa Wall for a 4-yard touchdown. The Trojans took a 10-0 lead before Tattnall started to claw its way back.

Collins and Ty Hunnicutt connected for a 45-yard pass and cut John Milledge's lead to three with about six minutes to go in the first half. Late in the third quarter, running back Ben Brown gave Tattnall a 14-10 lead thanks to a running touchdown.

Wall and John Milledge answered back near the start of the fourth quarter with a rushing touchdown, but Collins had a 66-yard touchdown pass about a minute later to keep the momentum on Tattnall’s side.

Collins and Hunnicutt connected one more time to put the game out of reach for the opposing Trojans. JMA received the ball on their own 35-yard line with a chance to close the gap with about four minutes, left, but couldn’t do so.

Three stars

Jabari Zanders, Telfair County quarterback: Zanders’ performance, alongside the rest of a dominant Telfair offense, helped the Trojans demolish Wheeler County 50-16.

While the running game was equally as impressive, Zanders’ ability through the air set the tone for the game. He threw for three touchdowns, including a 40-yard touchdown pass. He also converted three two-point conversions through the air.

The senior quarterback lead the way for the Trojans and helped the team crack 50 points for the first time since 2022.

Jacolbie Allen, Howard running back: The senior running back for Howard helped the Huskies score 42 points for a second straight week, as he contributed to a 42-6 win over Cross Creek.

He reached the endzone twice on the ground, as he teamed up with junior running back Terrance Brown to create a devastating running back tandem.

However, Allen’s biggest accomplishment was a massive passing touchdown. He took a swing pass and instead of running up the field, dropped back and delivered a perfectly placed ball to a teammate for another touchdown.

Duke Johnson, Dodge County running back/linebacker: Johnson makes plays nearly every week, but this week he was a man on fire.

Johnson found the endzone twice on the ground, but also made several tackles on defense, including a WWE-esque piledrive tackle, where he picked up a Jefferson County player and slammed him to the ground with ease.

The Alabama commit and four-star is a big reason why Dodge County remains undefeated and had one of his best performances in a stellar season.
