PERRY, Georgia — One Central Georgia high school football team is competing in the Georgia High School Football State Championship games Tuesday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
The Perry Panthers are looking to claim their first state championship in school history. They are facing off against Stockbridge at 4 p.m.
The Panthers beat Burke County in the first round at home by a score of 35-14. Then Perry had to go on the road and win three straight games to reach the title game. They knocked Bainbridge, Stephenson and Starr’s Mill.
On the other side, the Stockbridge Tigers have won 12 straight games including back-to-back road wins in the playoffs over Spalding and Benedictine.
13WMAZ will have scores from all the state title games and highlights from Perry’s first state title game appearance.
