FFN Roundup: Perry heading to state championship, FPD takes home the title

Here's a look at the scores and highlights from around Central Georgia.

PERRY, Ga. — The playoffs are winding down and Football Friday Night is back with more action. This week offered up some big upsets, a couple of nail-biters, and one Central Georgia team booked its ticket to the state championship game in Atlanta.

Here is a look at a roundup of scores and highlights from around Central Georgia:

Game Of the Week:

Perry 28, Starr's Mill 24

The Perry Panthers are heading to their first state championship game in program history. This is historic but the Panthers aren't going to be satisfied with just getting to the state championship game against Stockbridge. They will look to build of the momentum they've been able to build over the last few weeks including a comeback win over Starr's Mill on Friday night. Quarterback Colter Ginn returning from injury has been such a big boost for this team but he will need to be at his best if this team is going to take home the title.

Three Stars

FPD: This team took home a GIAA title and is on top for the first time since 1985. This is a special moment for the Vikings, especially for first year head coach Brett Collier.

John Milledge: For the first time in a very long time the Trojans are not champions but what a run this team win on. This team won more than 60 games in a row and took home a few titles during the run. The loss to Valwood ends one of the best runs in the country. Odds are this team will be back here next year.

Telfair County: The season ends with a loss in the semifinals but what a run it was for this team. This will be one they will remember for awhile even if it didn't end with the elusive state title.
