The team did not announce a potential timetable - if there is any - for Bowers to return.

The Dawgs won the game over Vanderbilt, 37-20, but the loss of Bowers delivers of a massive blow to No. 1 UGA as they look for a three-peat of national championships.

“Obviously here at Georgia, next man up mentality,” UGA quarterback Carson Beck said of losing Bowers after the game Saturday. “We fully expect anybody that’s going to come in behind him to step up and replace him.”

Bowers is leading all UGA pass catchers and tight ends in the nation with 37 catches for 575 yards. He also leads the team with four receiving touchdowns.
